- Simple assembly tasks (screwing, plugging in connectors)
- Warehouse sorting and palletizing
- Autonomous navigation and obstacle avoidance
These are almost all repetitive manual labor tasks, and its precision and speed still fall short of experienced workers.

Mass Production Plans
Musk said external sales will begin in 2026, priced at $20,000-$30,000. However, industry insiders generally believe this timeline is overly optimistic.
Significance
Regardless of whether the timeline holds up, Tesla is currently the company investing the most in the humanoid robot space. If Optimus can truly achieve a $20,000 price point and become practical, manufacturing will undergo a seismic shift.
Of course, Musk's timelines should always be taken with a grain of salt.
